YUKÕ RENTAL FAQ'S

GETTING STARTED

Avail of flexible, convenient and affordable rentals from all Toyota Dealerships across Ireland, and yes Northern Ireland included. Rent a range of unbranded Toyota models  by the day, week or month. 

To become a member, download the YUKÕ App, sign up and within 48 working hours your application will be reviewed. An approved YUKÕ member can use both our Share and Rental services. 

Each dealership uploads their own vehicles onto the App for you guys to rent. There is a wide range of models, colours and grades available. RAV4, CHR, Highlander, Yaris X, Corolla X, Aygo X, Corolla Saloon/HB, Yaris, Aygo to name a few! 

Prices for YUKÕRental vehicles are set by the indiviudal dealerships. You can browse the pricing and vehicle availability on the App. If you have any further questions regarding either, feel free to give the local dealership a call and they will be happy to help! 

The insurnce/driving criteria is the same for both services, however, some of the larger models on our YUKÕ Rental service are restricted to driver's 25 years old+. This is in line with our insurance policy. These vehicles will have a note beside them on the App to let you know! 

Click the hamburger menu in the app and scroll to “My Account”. Here you will be able to update your member details, licence, and payment method.

Anyone between the ages of 22-75. We accept automatic and manual licenses.  You must hold a full driver’s license for at least 24 months. Most international licenses are accepted, however, there are a few exceptions due to insurance requirements. Check it out with Memberships@yuko.toyota.ie. If you have a non-EU license and have been a resident in Ireland for over 12 months, you will need to exchange your license for an Irish license or apply for an Irish driver’s license. This may be due to you not having a payment method attached to your account. You can re-add a payment method by clicking on the account section of your app, then Add payment card.

If a previous payment did not go through, you will need to contact support@yuko.toyota.ie to clear your balance.

If your driver’s license has expired, you will need to update this in the account section of your app.

Our rental service has a mix of automatic and manual (mainly automatic). If you wish to drive a manual, you will need to have the appropriate drivers licence to do so. 

A hybrid combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, powered by a battery which the car charges for itself. You never have to plug it in. Every time you use the brakes, ‘regenerative braking’ recharges the batteries. All of our YUKÕ’s are hybrid and travel in electric mode 80% of the time.

MAKING A BOOKING

YUKO Rental vehicles are represented by blue icons on the map. YUKO Share vehicles are represented with red icons on the map. 

Yes, additional drivers go free. Once they are an approved member of YUKO Toyota Car Club then they will be insured to drive the car with your permission. 

You can travel to Northern Ireland however you cannot travel outside the island of Ireland.

REFUELLING

When you collect your rental car from the dealership it will have a full tank of fuel. If you need to refuel during your booking, you will pay yourself. Please return the car to the dealership after your booking with a full tank. 
Failure to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel may result in a charge to cover the cost of refuelling the vehicle.

PAYMENTS 

Your payment card on your account will be debited for your rental as soon as you make your booking.

No, there are no kilometre charges. You pay for your own fuel. 

If you beleive you will be doing a lot of mileage during your booking, please dicuss with the dealership in advance. 

  • Late return penalty of €25 is charged if you return the car 30 mins after the drop off time. 
  • Cleaning fee of €50-100 will be charged if the car is brought back in bad condition (rubbish, dirt, sand etc)
  • Leaving the car on a one-way trip hold a fee of €500. Return the vehicle to the dealership you collected from. 
  • Allowing unauthorised person drive your rental vehicle holds a fee of €500.

You must cancel your booking with 1 months notice in order to recieve a full refund. 

Toll charges are the member's responsibility, if unpaid they will be issued to the members account with an additional admin fee. Please do not forget to pay for electronic tolls such as the M50 toll. Speeding fines will be re-issued in the members name and forwarded to the driver in question.

Yes, you pay for your own parking. 

No, you only pay for what you use. 

ACCIDENTS & INSURANCE

Please contact the dealership whom you are renting from - you will be able to get their phone number from searching the dealership on Google. They will be able to advise you on next steps and put a plan in place such as vehicle recovery, replacement etc.

If your accident occurs outside of our office hours and the car needs to be recovered, you can call our 24/7 roadside assistance team on: 1800 741 700

Should you be at fault for the accident, you’ll have to pay an excess of €1500 as per our current terms and conditions. If the other party is at fault, YUKÕ Toyota Car Club’s fully comprehensive insurance will cover the cost.

No, you cannot add your own insurance to the booking. Toyota’s fully comprehensive insurance is included in the booking cost.
